Itinerary (9-10 hours)
This excursion will leave you speechless, you will fall in love with the island at the end of it and after living an unforgettable experience.
Once you are all on board, our guided tour takes you on the breathtaking Timanfaya National Park, making the Volcano Route in which we see different types of craters combined by a living chromatism that reflects the origin of the eruption, the materials it emitted or even the intensity with the one that exploded. We will verify the trace of these eruptions that happened almost 300 years ago when performing geothermal demonstrations, that is, we will check the heat that still emanates from the earth in different ways, all very spectacular.
Timanfaya, was declared National Park on August 9, 1974, occupies an area of 51.07 km² and has more than 25 volcanoes.
According to the witness of the parish priest Lorenzo Curbelo: "On September 1, 1730, between nine and ten o'clock at night, the land opened in Timanfaya, two leagues from the village of Yaiza ... and a huge mountain rose from the womb of the earth". The island was completely transformed. New villages were buried and for six years the lava spread through the south zone covering a quarter of the island and filling the nearby villages with volcanic ashes.
We encourage you to know more about this park personally and by our qualified guides.
Our next visit is the Cueva de los Verdes, a volcanic structure that is located in the municipality of Haría north of Lanzarote.
It is a volcanic tube that is designated by the eruption of the Corona Volcano and was formed approximately 5000 years ago (before the National park Fire Mountains - Timanfaya), when the lavas very flowing descended under firmer lavas, creating a large elongated cavity. This volcanic tube has a total length of seven kilometres from the Corona volcano to the coast and extends under the sea by 1.5 km more.
This cave at Aborigines times was used as a refuge from attacks by Berber pirates on the island. It receives the name of Verde family, who where the owners of the cave at that time.
This cave has a well kept secret and that will be revealed by our guide during the visit of the same.
To call it a day we visit the spectacular volcanic cave of the Jameos del Agua, transformed by the artist César Manrique, who intends to show the visitor an area to observe nature hardly intervened by man.
Jameos del Agua is a huge hole that occurs as a result of the sinking of the roof of a volcanic tube and located inside the volcanic tunnel produced by the eruption of the Corona Volcano. The tunnel has a known length of 6 km, of which at least 1,5 km run under the sea surface. The Jameos del Agua are located in the section of this tunnel closest to the coast.
From the ecological point of view, it is possible to emphasize a species of unique crab and endemic, the blind crabs, a crab of barely an inch of length, albino and blind.
Probably this excursion is one of the few possibilities you have to visit the three most impressive treasures of Lanzarote in a single excursion: The Mountains of Fire (Timanfaya National Park), Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes.

I would recommend this tour. Expensive, but worth it. Lanzarote is more than a building site. It is an amazing island. The guide was delightful, knowledgable and professional, if a little difficult to understand at times. Although LCT's brochure mentions the lunch is optional, it is not obvious on the actual tour. We paid €7 just for one plate of flavoured rice with three small pieces of sea food. There were no other food outlets available. Hence, just 4 stars.
